2021.10.20 06:23 kia75 Prescription lenses with Eye Tracking
Is it possible? Most eye tracking is on the rim of the lenses. Most prescription lenses go on top of the rim, covering the sensors.
Is it possible to use eye-tracking with prescription lenses? Are there any eye tracking in a different spot?

2021.10.20 06:23 the_tendril_zone I love/hate samplers (and sample players)
I've only been delving into sample hardware for the last few years and along the way picked up a volca sample, a circuit, a digitakt and a deluge. For so long I felt like a sampler was the missing link in my limited kit and from years of listening to records I so often heard a snippet that i thought would make a great sample.
I like to try to engage with all my gear as often as possible and with the sample based instruments I aim for a slightly unique purpose for each of them so that they can work simultaneously and bring unique elements to the session but now that I have all this hardware at hand I find I mostly just draw a blank.
I have downloaded lots of free and paid packs for some gear and sampled vinyl as well as extracting audio from YouTube and done some field recording. It just kind of feels all over the place and leaves me empty about the process. Its almost as if the infinite choices have frozen my creativity.
I'm happiest on the Digitakt using snippets of vocals without music and twisting them within the limits of the machine into unintelligible vocal hits. I have never really tried to isolate a break or a musical phrase on a record and loop it.
I'm really not into recreating vintage synths or anything like that. I'm happy with the actual synths I have and never feel like they are limiting my melodic output.
So, I guess to an extent, I'm just lazy. I like the limitations of machines with built in sounds. I like the immediacy. Maybe I was wrong to think that samplers were a way forward? But I don't want that to be so. I want all my samplers to be loaded with gold and always have a dynamic evolving pallatte. The quirks of sampled percussion is such a great companion to classic synthesized drum sounds and who doesn't want a little vocal stab here and there?
So I guess my questions are, what is your sampling strategy? Where do you pick up bulk piles of interesting samples? Do you know of any packs for the above samplers that you consider indispensable? Am I missing something?
All thoughts, tips, tricks and meditations on the world of sampling are welcome.
Have a great day 🙂

2021.10.20 06:23 TiyashaR Know your best days to get/ to getting pregnant with X? Is the 'to' an infinitive here or a preposition?
The use of 'to' trips me up a bit. Can someone please explain the rule a little. Also, is it ok to use any other preposition in place of the 'to'? For example, know your best days of getting pregnant with X.

2021.10.20 06:23 Fehendil Surge protector causes socket to buzz
Just today I bought a surge protector for my new pc. Plugged everything in and spent the next 15 min looking for the source a this strange noise.
Turns out it was my electrical outlet (one on the opposite side of the room without anything in socket) buzzing ever so slightly. Stops every now and again for a minute then comes back. Stops indefinitely if I plug the protector off.
So is the device faulty? Is it safe to use?
